Lawrence Tech design studio in Midtown to open Oct. 30

The Lawrence Technological University Detroit Center for Design + Technology is scheduled to officially open Oct. 30 as the anchor tenant for the $6.73 million Woodward Willis development in Midtown.

The center will take about 7,800 square feet in the Midtown Detroit Inc.-developed building at the northwest corner of Woodward Avenue and Willis Street.

It is a consolidation of three Detroit-based programs of LTU’s College of Architecture and Design: the Detroit Studio, which provides design support for neighborhood and community-based Detroit projects; urban design studio DetroitSHOP; and Studio Couture, a storefront exhibit space.
